Referencing facials, body wraps, releiving inflammatin, detox baths, detox internally, overacidity, first aid, and the list goes on. See www.biogro.us/livingclay.html for other downloads for using calcium bentonite, Living Clay, montmorillonite clay. Tested and tried to be a very fine and easily water soluble solution clay.
Facials Body Wraps Relieve Inflammation Detox Bath Detox Internally First Aid

While there is not one single method for mixing clay and water to make pastes, liquid clay, etc,, our experience suggests the following methods:

The ratio for making a Cleansing Clay Mask is 1 part dry clay to 3 parts water. This is also referred to as hydrated clay. For example, add 1 1/2 cups of water to 1/2 cup of Living Clay® Detox Powder. Use a glass, ceramic or food grade plastic container with a non-metal lid, air tight lid. Cover and shake vigorously for 1 minute or until all lumps are gone. Open the cover and allow it to breathe for 10-15 minutes until fully hydrated. Then cover and keep in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

For larger batches:

Using a plastic or glass bowl, add 1 cup of dry clay to 3 cups of water. Next, use an electric mixer to mix the clay and water until smooth. Use care as it will splatter. Let the clay set for 1 hour lightly covered, allowing the clay to breathe. Repeat the mixing process if necessary until the clay is smooth and creamy and reaches the desired consistency. Next put the clay into a glass, ceramic or food grade plastic container with a plastic lid. Do not leave the beaters in the clay when the mixer is not in use and wash the clay off immediately. Keep in a cool place out of direct sunlight. The end product will be a creamy, smooth, pudding-like substance. By holding the container in one hand and tapping it with the other hand, one should be able to feel a “bounce” to the clay. The consistency can be easily adjusted by adding more powdered clay or water until personal preference is achieved.

Preparing Living Clay® Detox Clay Powder for a liquid consistency: The ratio is 1 part dry clay to 8 parts water. For example, ¼ cup of Living Clay® Detox Clay Powder to 2 cups of water.

Suggested method:

In a glass jar or plastic bottle with a plastic cap add selected amounts of clay and water. Shake vigorously for 1 minute. Let it set for 15 minutes with the lid off to allow the clay to expand and breathe. Repeat the shaking process again. Some residue will remain in the bottom. The consistency can be easily adjusted by adding more powdered clay or water until personal preference is achieved. Keep in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

Benefits and Uses of Rooibos Tea
Rooibos tea is the ideal drink for people with a busy lifestyle. It can be enjoyed in unlimited quantities throughout the

YUM-O ROOIBOS TEA

day. It is a great thirst quencher for athletes as iced tea, or mixed with fruit juice. For the diet conscious, who are experiencing the stress of a restricted diet, Rooibos is a soothing drink, without adding calories. Because of its lower tannin content, Rooibos is less bitter than regular tea and can be enjoyed without sugar.

Rooibos is not just for making drinks. It can also be used in baking and cooking. Rooibos can be used in any recipe. Just replace the liquid content in the recipe with ready made Rooibos tea. It may be used as base for soups, stews, marinades, and sauces. Rooibos is also a natural meat tenderizer.

Rooibos Tea for Mothers and Babies
Many desperate mothers have found that Rooibos tea relieves colic and stomach cramps in babies, when given in addition to their normal feeding. Some mothers have great faith in Rooibos tea to alleviate diaper rash. It has a soothing effect when applied to the affected area with every diaper change. Others believe it is useful in the treatment of certain skin irritations or eczema. Mothers will also tell you that this health drink relieves symptoms of allergies, hay fever, and asthma in babies and toddlers.

Japanese Research into Rooibos
Perhaps the highest testimony of the benefits of this pure and natural beverage comes from Japan, a society famous for its age-old devotion to the art of tea making. Here, Rooibos has been promoted as a healthy alternative to other cold and warm beverages.

Japanese scientist Matatoshi Nakano, has discovered that the effect of free radicals – a byproduct of normal cell function – in the process of aging and decline of the immune system is limited by the antioxidants in Rooibos. If the product is brewed/boiled for longer than 10 minutes, the antioxidant activity becomes much higher.

The Anti Aging Tea?
It has been found that Rooibos tea contains a substantial amount of a very special enzyme, Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) which is a prime preventer of Free Radical Damage. SOD also has the capability of preventing fats from changing into harmful lipid peroxide. As Rooibos tea also contains natural antioxidants, which help to remove or neutralize these toxins, there is growing acceptance that Rooibos could assist in
countering the aging process and boost the immune system. Rooibos Tea is also rich in Quercetin, the flavonol that has beneficial effects on numerous ailments. It is well known for increasing capillary strength, which aids in circulation, prevents hemorrhaging, and protects against infections.

In the late 1920′s, Dr. Nortier, a well-known medical doctor and nature lover, discovered the Rooibos and began to promote its value. Since then, Rooibos Tea has gone from strength to strength and is currently being exported to several countries such as Germany, Switzerland, England, and even Japan, a country renowned for it’s almost sacred regard for the art of tea making.

Rooibos is a Tea of Purity
Rooibos contains no additives, preservatives or colorants. It is completely pure and natural and contains no caffeine.

Rooibos Tea contains little tannin, a substance that affects the metabolism by decreasing absorption of certain nutrients like iron and protein. Growing children and especially women require added iron, so the decreased tannin can play an important role in improving the iron level of the diet.

Note: We make Rooibos Red Tea Concentrate from loose tea, and process through the Filtron Coffee Maker, liquid concentrate lasts up to a couple of months and takes hardly any storage room.

Ice Tea Recipe:

Sweet Ice Tea: Bring 1 1/2 qts pure water to a boil, add 3 Rooibos Tea Bags, 1/4 tsp conc. stevia (no aftertaste) , and simmer 15 minutes, pour over 1/2 gallon container filled with ice

Unsweetened Rooibos Ice Tea, same as above without stevia.

When people ask me about dry mouth, the first thing I suggest is they determine what their acidic tendencies are, like coffee, soda, candy, etc., reduce the acid, increase the alkalinity with fresh foods and of course increase hydration - it always seems to me that most symptoms are foundational to hydration or dehydration. Xylitol is the great exchange and with gum or breath mints, it's a wonderful target product for dry mouth, click on What Is Xylitol, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Sweet and Simple Solution For Dry Mouth? Mouth Sores? Cracking Tongue?

Saliva is produced by our salivary glands and when they are clogged or not working properly, our saliva can be too acidic, resulting in dry mouth and sometimes mouth sores.

Saliva is alkaline. A good reason to be concerned about dry mouth is that when we chew our food, our saliva (which should carry a high pH), works in tandem with our teeth to break down or pre-digest our food before it goes into out stomach.

Antagonists of dry mouth may be smoking, or some medications, even allergy and antihistamines, plus sugary acidic drinks like soda, and of course acidic drinks like coffee and alcohol. We are mostly made of water and should really focus on keeping our water environment clean and healthy.

Why we should drink clean pure water ? Our body is made up of mostly water, at birth about 90%, as an adult we hover around 80% or more. If you think about stagnant water, it’s a clear picture of why we should drink clean, pure water everyday. We absorb nutrition from food and water, but today water is degraded and it is our individual responsibility to purify our drinking water for good health. Bottled water is not the answer for many reasons, and when you can purify up to a 1,000 gallons in a 4 stage $25 pitcher, or $100 countertop unit, why would you buy bottled water?

Home Page“>

While there may be a lot of different approaches to dry mouth, xylitol sweetened gum, mints, etc., offer a simple and natural solution to increase saliva flow naturally. You can now find many products made with xylitol over the counter at your local grocery, drug store, and of course big box stores, however most are corn based and made in China, so for the healthiest xylitol look for USA products who use domestic xylitol, made from birch trees. Basically, made in the U.S.A. to me, demonstrates a higher quality of xylitol at the same pricepoint. Trident® Sugarless gum made with Xylitol are, Trident® fusion flavors, and Stride gum.

Hydration is Everything – Body Weight vs. Body Water

How much water should a person drink? Take your body weight, divide by 2 and that tells you roughly how many quarts of water you are (each quart of water weighs about 2 pounds), example 100 pounds = 50 quarts. Then decide how much pure drinking water you should drink, i.e., 8 glasses a day would be 2 quarts fresh water each day. So if you are 150 pounds and drank 2 quarts of water a day, it would take 75 days to drink your body water, 3 quarts a day would take 50 days, ultimately having an impact on your level of hydration (cells), and water environment.

Note about Xylitol: In addition to gum, mints, etc., I like xylitol for some food preparation, especially (looks like sugar, tastes like sugar, and acts like sugar) for baking, sauces, and making berry jams. For a daily beverage sweetener I prefer concentrated stevia for making healthy drinks at home like lemonade, red tea, juice from concentrate, etc.

From the Organic Consumers Association:

On a 1 – 10 list, below are reasons “9 & 10″ why you should require Genetically Modified Food be labeled as such (GMO), and why you should NOT eat conventional agricultural produce and processed foods:

#9 In the only human feeding study ever published on GMOs, Monsanto’s GMO ”RoundUp Ready” soybeans were found to transfer Monsanto’s “RoundUp Ready” DNA to the bacteria living inside human intestines. (What percent of soybeans in U.S. are Genetically Modified and grown with pesticides and chemicals? Here’s the reference I found: The United States (85%) and Argentina (98%) produce almost exclusively GM soybeans. In these countries, GM soybeans are approved without restrictions and are treated just like conventional soybeans.)

#10 According to Jeffrey Smith of the Institute for Responsible Technology, the transfer of Monsanto’s GMO Bt DNA to human digestive bacteria could create a “living pesticide factory” that could be responsible for the “increase in gastrointestinal problems, autoimmune diseases, food allergies, and childhood learning disorders – since 1996 when Bt crops came on the market.”

We are a people who are “Sick and Tired” for a reason. Did you know that every farm in America was organic and that we didn’t have processed foods or canned foods until WWII (other than what we prepared at home)? Just saying that ”organic” isn’t new, but our body’s response to chemicals and pesticides, as well as processed foods and nonfood additives and bleached table salt and high fructose corn syrup in everything, could be the root cause (along with not cleaning our home water) for most of us being sick and tired or overweight!

Why Supplement?

Simply our body is not getting what it “requires” from our natural resources. Generations ago when the earth/soil and water were healthy and strong, people didn’t require supplementation, i.e., garden vegetables were strong in minerals, they were clean and good. We derived not only hydration but also minerals from our pure, clean water.

Not so much anymore, just look at this data from the early 90′s and you’ll realize why we have so many acronyms in our world: ADD, ADHD, FMS, CFS, and of course the list goes on and on. We can change this but first we have to realize what our body, what we require, to perform at our optimum!

In 1992 The Earth Summit Reports states that 99% of Americans are mineral deficient – substantiating the

U.S. Senate Report of 1936, Document 264, authored by Charles Northern, MD, that indicated “unless something is done about the poor nutrient content in the soil, there will be a serious rise in degenerative diseases within 50 years”.

In 1993 The World Health Organization occurred indicating Agricultural Soil in the U.S. is 95% deplete overall in the basic survival nutrients.

How do I know if I need to supplement?

Ask yourself if you are feeling SICK AND TIRED or have DISEASE? Any “body” too acidic, already knows it: low performance, sleep issues, allergies, asthma, weight, digestion, bloating, acid reflux, diabetes, arthritis, whatever disease, and the list goes on.

Based on what we know about our food, water, and air, there are relatively few people that do not need to supplement or support themselves.

How do I minimize what I supplement AND MAXIMIZE its’ value?

Begin with whole food based nutrition in the form of live, energized foods like green vegetables, or nutritional supplements from WHOLE FOOD SOURCES that offer a mega high concentration of these whole foods that are ALSO alkalizing.

Focus on feeding your cells, re-hydrating your body, changing out the water, and floating your pH back to neutral. Then if you want, target or cleanse! Call or email for more information.

Why pH Body Balance or Acid/Alkaline?

The pH of our body and our waterways (our bodies are about 70% water, our blood is 96% water) need to be neutral in order to stay clean and our cells stay healthy. When our water is clean and our cells are healthy our body can restore.

CHANGE YOUR WATER 100 pounds body weight = 70 pounds of water (clean?)

Think about a swimming pool, we chemically induce the water in the pool to a neutral pH balance to eliminate the opportunity for fungus, scum, bacteria, or worse, to grow, which would ;destroy the integrity of our swimming water.

The waterways of our body are not unlike the swimming pool, however the method we should use to balance the pH is different. One way we keep ourselves pH neutral is to consistently exchange the water, eat mostly alkaline foods and/or supplement with whole food based nutrition/supplements and natural pH support.

Get the idea? Whole fresh organic foods, and/or supplements derived from as close to nature as possible are the only supplements we can absorb (as we are intended to absorb, through food and water).

What kind of clay is this? Living Clay is montmorillonite, also known as calcium bentonite clay, which is a volcanic ash type of clay with a very high negative charge.

Why is a negative charge important? Everything bad in our body has a “positive” charge, everything good and wholesome, a “negative” charge. So the more negative charge (or negative ions) that you have, the better!

I am a self professed and self sufficient “clay” snob!

Having just admitting to the world I’m a “clay” snob, I need to also say that I blasted through a lot of different calcium bentonite clay products, only to find the purest, finest, and most water soluble is Living Clay. But that’s not all, because for a very long time, I was a self sufficient “clay snob” in that I only purchased dry clay and made all my own wet and dry clay products like pastes, scrubs, creams, etc.

Not too long ago I ordered several of the facial masks (which I use internally while I’m on the run, great for heartburn or upset tummy), and I was really surprised! Wow it’s like silk, so soft! Admittedly it would take a lot of processing for me to refine Living Clay to the level of the wet clay product, moreover, cost isn’t an issue when it comes to wet or dry, both are extremely reasonable!

You can find tons of information at our educational site, pHBodyBalance.com Here are some links to how I use Living Clay, enjoy!

Make your own gorgeous Christmas Gifts for under $5 each, my killer SpaSalt Scrub, Salt Hand Wash, Salt "Spa"

Salt is a natural cleanser, afterall it's what cleanses the ocean, salt kills bacteria, salt is very alkaline, and all the rest, well, it's heavenly!

My "spa" salt scrub really needs a name that's for sure. However, it is a great hand sanitizer, hand wash, and really fun and easy make. It's quite luxurious, and so very practical. If your hands are in and out of water all day, it's especially good, but even for the occasional hand washing it gives you a "spa" moment throughout your day. Great for home or office, anywhere really. Makes a great gift as well.

Keep in mind when you read the ingredients that you can improvise, that's how the best recipes are found! So if you already have a massage oil that's scented, or maybe some salts that are already infused, you can change this up. The basic ingredients, salt, oil, essential oil scent, in whatever combination you like.

Many people have emailed that they’d like to make this Spa Scrub as a Gift – GREAT IDEA:

YOU can make this Gorgeous GIFT sanitizer, hand wash, hand healing, or spa moment? YES! This is the perfect economical fun solution to gels and soap at every sink, etc. it is easy, fun, and luxurious! There doesn’t seem to be a shelf life, the oil protects the salt, the salt is a preservative, so the only downside is the scent may need to be refreshed:)

Salt is a natural cleanser (cleanses the ocean afterall), certainly kills bacteria, and salt is very alkaline, the oil is softening, the scent refreshing, and all the rest, well, it’s heavenly! Your perfect scrub for cold weather, dry skin, or simply to treat yourself. Especially good if your hands are in and out of water all day, no dryness. Great for home or office, anywhere really.

Well here you go, (Dollar Store) container with lid and ingredients are simple, oil, salt, and essential oils for fragrance - best of all, make it in 5 minutes for incredible gift giving! Everyone loves this, men, kids, and of course women. I keep a bowl at every sink – no more soap in my house!

DIY SPA SCRUB for less than $5.00 (much less depending on ingredients), including container! Pictured is sea salt, grape seed oil, drops of essential oil, in a (dollar store) candy dish, all sitting nicely in my guest bathroom. Guests use it dry to wash their hands (massage themselves), rinse and not only is it anti-bacterial, it leaves your skin ooh la la soft and supple

With dry hands, scoop about 1/2 tsp into your palm, rub all over hands and wrists and be careful, I find myself standing thre for minutes on end before rinsing – simply rinse with water. Your hands are soft, clean, and you feel great!

As Pictured, my scrub is scooped into a $1 (candy dish I believe, but filled with salt scrub, in this case, cut off chop sticks from a Chinese restaruant, and scotch tape wrapped to join top and bottom, makes it perfect to wrap in cellophane with a bow, or a bag with a fragile sign) you can see my glass dish with a lid.

NOTE: I’ve placed in every bathroom, plus one at the kitchen sink ~ everyone looks forward to washing their hands!

ALSO…..Not just for hands, but makes a great body scrub before a shower, foot scrub at the end of a hard day, just remember apply dry, then rinse!

My calculated cost: $1 – $5 (I used Grapeseed Oil, WO Essential Oil Blend, Salt, and purchase containers at my local Dollar Store or department store).

Today I made 6 containerful in one bowl, then scooped, sealed, and wrapped in clear saran wrap with a bow and Instructions “rolled as a scroll, attached with a ribbon“, as follows:

1 Minute Spa Massage & Hand Cleanser

Directions: Scoop 1/2 tsp (depending on the size of your hands), dry rub for 1 minute, rinse and dry!

Salt is anti bacterial, oil is softening, & together the perfect cleanser & spa massage!

NOW, ENJOY AND MAKE IT YOUR MOMENT!

LOVE, Maraline (your name of course goes here:)Clean Hands, Soft Hands

Maraline’s DIY Spa Massage ScrubDIY 1 minute spa scrub (and cleanser) softens, massages, and cleanses your hands & arms, great for the whole family, my son loves it! Everyone Loves My DIY Spa Scrub!

Keep in mind when you read the ingredients that you can improvise, that’s how the best recipes are found! So if you already have a massage oil that’s scented, or maybe some salts that are already infused, you can change this up. The basic ingredients, salt, oil, scented essential oil, in whatever combination you like.ENJOY!You will need:Salt (use inexpensive salt, not your unbleached sea salt, this may be the only time you want to buy bleached LOL)Grape Seed Oil or Massage Oil (cold pressed Grape Seed Oil is light and has no scent (it also can be used as a high heat cooking oil); can be found at your grocery store, and it’s also sometimes sold as a massage oil)Essential Oil Drops (any that you have on hand; lavender, peppermint essential oil drops work well – my personal favorite is Lemon with Spearmint, and I crush a few spearmint leaves in the mix)

NOW MAKE IT IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES: Directions: Pour about 1/4 cup of oil into a bowl, add salt until it mushes up like a white snow cone (see photo), add 20 – 30 essential drops in any combination, stir until it smells the way you would like it to smell. That’s it. You can adjust to the size of containers.

Craving a Hearty Soup? You’ve got to try my ”Root Stoup”!

See Bonus Recipe for SLOW COOKER Roasted Root Veges that taste just like oven roasted….at end of posting.

We prepared this quite often last winter, but by the time I thought about posting it, Spring was in the air. All in good time they say, and NOW is the PERFECT TIME for Root Stoup!

This is a vegetarian meal, however, for those that enjoy organic chicken or grass-fed beef, either are good ingredients if pre-cooked, directions follow vegetarian recipe.

If you choose to do this in a slow cooker I suggest making it vegetarian, toss everything in the slow cooker, set on low for 6-7 hours, stir and you have STOUP!

Vegetarian Root Stoup (Stoup; combination word for like a soup, but bigger pieces like a stew)

In a colander, pile up equal size cubes (I like it hearty 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″) of Rutabaga, White Turnip (tastes like potatoes when cooked), Parsnips, Carrots, white Sweet Potato, and (optional) Gold Yukon Potatoes or Small Red….oh, and personally I love to add a couple of Leeks, sliced 1/8th of an inch.

Make your broth, either 2 quarts of boxed vege broth, make your own (see recipe here at pHreshLiving.com), use Unchicken Vege Dry Broth (bulk), or the healthiest dry I’ve found, Vogue Vege Broth.

Bring broth to a simmer, add all the veges, simmer for an hour or so until everything is tender.

Add seasonings as follows:

1 T Herbs de Provence
1 T Rosemary
Unbleached Sea Salt to taste
White Pepper to taste
1/8 tsp stevia concentrate
2 tsp ground nutmeg
Optional:

Poultry: 3 organic chicken breasts, slightly hammered/pounded to tenderize, steamed in 1″ of water for approximately 30 minutes, topped with a bit of sea salt and Herbs de Provence. Let cool, cube and toss all of it into souppot.

Beef: You are on your own since I don’t really remember how to prepare beef, but keep in mind, it needs to be tender, cubed, and of course, organic & grassfed:)

Roasted Root Veges in the Crock Pot – Taste like you roasted them with a prime rib – but you didn’t, strictly veges!

You can literally use any and every kind of root vegetable, I used parsnips, carrots, turnips, rutabaga, and I added Yukon Gold Potatoes half way through (if you add potatoes to your slow cooker in the beginning they will get mushy, so YOU MUST USE SMALL WHOLE REDS so it is a contained mushy:) ). I also like to add whole green onions, and sometimes leek, radishes, etc. just to kick it up!

Slice them anyway you like, cube, elongated, just make sure they are big and hearty!

Wash and dry your root veges, lay to the side on paper towels or a cotton towel.

In a gallon size zip lock bag (or you can use a bowl) you will add (a few times to accomodate all your veges) 3 T EVOO (extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed), Sea Salt, 1 tsp dry vege broth (or blend several seasonings like rosemary, basil, sage, thyme, etc.) and white pepper.

Toss your veges in the oil mixture until coated, drop into your slow cooker (set on HIGH for a 4 hour prepare, or LOW for a 6-8 hour prepare). Continue same process until all your veges are piled up – cover and let it go.

It’s a challenge to add potatoes to this mixture unless it’s whole reds, unless you are going to be home and can add them 1/2 way through the process, otherwise, it’s delicious without, and to some preferable!

Enjoy!

Certified organic products cannot intentionally include any GMO ingredients. Buy products labeled “100% organic,” “organic,” or “made with organic ingredients.” You can be doubly sure if the product also has a Non-GMO Project Verified Seal. <a title="Current USDA regulations allow food products that contain 95-100% certified organic ingredients to use the USDA Organic seal.
Look for Non-GMO Project Seals

Products that carry the Non-GMO Project Seal are independently verified to be in compliance with North America’s only third party standard for GMO avoidance, including testing of at-risk ingredients. The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization committed to providing consumers with clearly labeled and independently verified non-GMO choices. Look for dairy products labeled “No rBGH or rBST,” or “artificial hormone-free.”

If it’s not labeled organic or verified non-GMO: Avoid products made with ingredients that might be derived from GMOs (see list). The eight GM food crops are Corn, Soybeans, Canola, Cottonseed, Sugar Beets, Hawaiian Papaya (most) and a small amount of Zucchini and Yellow Squash.

We can put a stop to perpetuating our symptoms, conditions, and dis-ease in our body simply by becoming empowered about what our body requires and providing it. The first thing is rather than sit back and eat and drink the degraded food and water prevelant in our marketplace today, we can see how nutrition and hydration affect how we perform. This doesn't mean changing your entire life, it means evaluate, isolate, and exchange.

Summary: Pharmaceuticals, Nutritional needs, Rehydration or Dehydration, and examples of simple exchanges of nutrition, beverages, and supplements that can take you from detrimental or "bad for you" to beneficial or "good for you", that you will enjoy and feel better doing, are discussed, are all outlined below and at www.pHBodyBalance.com with many more recipes here at pHreshLiving Blog.

A "Must See" Realistic Perspective About Phamaceuticals: No one speaks to our prescriptions better than Gwen Olsen.

Our body requires certain levels of nutrition and hydration, and if not provided, we will adapt to the conditions, but in doing so, nutritional deficits will be the consequence. While we are not directly responsible for the degradation of the food, water, and air, we are responsible to ourselves and our families to eat as our body is designed, for nutrition and hydration.

Q. What does our body require?

A. Foundational levels of nutrition, which means your body requires (not wants, not would like, but requires) certain vitamins and minerals, and certain levels of cellular hydration (or different levels of water in your 20 different cell sizes).

We are designed to receive nutrition through whole food and water both – today that’s almost impossible without whole food supplementation and clean drinking water at home.

This article is based around Americans ingesting far too many pharmaceuticals. Below you will watch a video of a pharmaceutical representative describing in detail exactly why so many of us are taking so many pharmaceuticals, and exactly how the pharmaceutical industry works. Did you know that pharmaceuticals carry the highest profit margin of any business in the country.

And did you know our body is a miracle that can work miracles once we become empowered, once we learn, and once we know which direction to point ourselves. “Point yourself in the right direction and YOU will follow” means your body inherently knows what is good for it and what is bad for it, and for the most part so do our brains, however our brain doesn’t have taste buds. Today we have to be careful to derive our nutrition from whole foods and our hydration from clean drinking water. Look at the reality of this, see what you think, and determine if you are willing to make small changes to improve the quality of your health.

Straight from Wikpedia:

Nearly one in two Americans (133 million) has a chronic medical condition of one kind or another,[1] and chronic illnesses cause about 70% of deaths in the United States and take up about 75% of the costs each year.[2] However, most of these people are not actually disabled, as their medical conditions do not impair normal activities. According to this report, the most common chronic conditions are high blood pressure, arthritis, respiratory diseases like emphysema, and high cholesterol.

That number is projected to increase by more than one percent per year by 2030, resulting in an estimated chronically ill population of 171 million.[1]

60% are between the ages of 18 and 64.[1] 90% of seniors have at least one chronic disease, and 77% of them have two or more chronic diseases.[3]

With regard to children and chronic “conditions”, the University of Michigan says this:

Chronic condition is an “umbrella” term. Children with chronic illnesses may be ill or well at any given time, but they are always living with their condition. Some examples of chronic conditions include (but are not limited to):

Asthma (the most common)

Diabetes

Cerebral palsy

Sickle cell anemia

Cystic fibrosis

Cancer

AIDS

Epilepsy

Spina bifida

Congenital heart problems

How common are chronic conditions?
About 15% to 18% of children in the United States live with a chronic health condition (based on the definition we’re using). It’s hard to estimate, though, because it really depends on how you define “chronic condition.”

We can put a stop to perpetuating our symptoms, conditions, and dis-ease in our body simply by becoming empowered about what our body requires and providing it. This doesn’t mean changing your entire life, it means evaluate, isolate, and exchange.

When we think of our health from a practical perspective we can evaluate ourselves in terms of what we are doing, and how that’s working for us, i.e., our performance. We also have the advantage of knowing our daily habits, symptoms, and that there is truth to what goes in is what comes out! Whether we already have healthy habits or not, the first item on the agenda is what are we doing that is causing us the most damage, and exchange it for something we will like just as much, or better, and we will feel better doing it!

As one example among many: If you can’t do without coffee, then simply cold press or cold brew your coffee (you still have hot coffee without the acid, most people love it because it tastes better and they feel better) and you will have cut the acid 70-80%, etc.

So if we have symptoms, are they chronic symptoms, and have those symptoms escalated to a diagnosis (which could be considered a medical condition either determined by symptoms or tests, not necessarily both), or have we been diagnosed with a disease which could be when one or more of our vital organs are affected. And if so, other than medication, are we addressing the inefficient performance with performance giving nutrition and rehydration?

Now what about the fact so many of us were left in the dark about things that we counted on mainstream traditional medicine to manage? Yet now we could be treating one symptom and perhaps creating another, and not really addressing or resolving the issue causing the symptom. It happens more now than ever before.

Unfortunately the “baby and the bathwater” ended up in the lap of our doctors, the brunt of degraded food, water, and air, and the havoc it has played with our health. Proof in point is that most of us can remember when we had a family doctor to help us, and perhaps granny had a prescription. Today however, everyone around us either has chronic symptoms or a diagnosis from one of many doctors they visit (on a regular basis), and even our children have a lineup of prescription medicine.

We can’t really blame the doctors, I mean really, our symptoms have gotten bigger than their practice, so now we have more specialists rather than generalists. Plus look at technology, now we know we have something before we actually know we have something, the money spent on cancer research has really only led to earlier and earlier diagnosis and $$ treatment. It’s a big business this cancer.

Summary: Pharmaceuticals, Nutritional needs, Rehydration or Dehydration, and examples of simple exchanges of nutrition, beverages, and supplements that can take you from detrimental or “bad for you” to beneficial or “good for you”, that you will enjoy and feel better doing, are discussed, are all outlined below and at pHBodyBalance.com

Nutrition: Did you know your body cannot absorb nutrition from synthetic vitamins and minerals in the same way it can from whole food supplements? Our body is designed to receive nutrition co-factored, which means vitamins and minerals must be together in a natural food form, i.e., a vegetable is naturally co-factored with the correct vitamins and minerals therefore the nutrition can be absorbed more easily. And if we all chewed a lot more, our teeth could do most of the work our digestive systems are trying to do. Lots of small changes found at www.pHBodyBalance.com.

Just to function at an adequate level our body requires certain basic nutrition including certain good oils and for us to consistently rehydrate. And that’s to maintain our processing systems and physical integrity, i.e., bones, muscles, ligaments, arteries, tissue, organs, and other body parts plus digestion, elimination, thinking, feeling, etc., in a healthy way. Our body will adapt to our environment, for example if you don’t rehydrate everyday your brain will turn off your thirst signal, however if you practice hydration (sipping consistently all day for a week), and you need rehydrating, you could become very thirsty until your cells saturate.

Two things stand out as our first steps: Rehydrating, and then addressing our nutrition. We can stop or exchange the most acidic or determental habits we have, Then, once we know what we need, we can go about reclaiming our health and the health of our children.

So bottom line is become empowered and utilize all the tips and shortcuts at pHBodyBalance.com . Learn some new strategies, some exchanges you’ll like better and that are better for you, for surviving and excelling in this world of degraded food, water, and air.

Mostly, take your health into your own hands and make some food exchanges, rehydrating and nutritional decisions, and let’s see what improvements you can make with your own health! The truth is our body is a miracle, and given the right ingredients it can heal itself. Our blood travels everywhere, if we can cleanup our blood we can cleanup our bodies, our symptoms and even our dis-ease!

Our Brain! Left Brain, Right Brain by Jill Bolte Taylor on TED TALKS
Jill Bolte Taylor came out of nowhere (at least for me) and is one of those "must hear" human beings. I don't recall exacly how long her talk is, but she is world renown now, and it is so very worthwhile to watch it all the way through, even if you have to leave it and come back.

This is the one TED TALK that stands out in my mind (no pun intended) as one of the most revealing and enlightening educations about our brain. Fascinating information, left brain, right brain. I also believe it's one of the first TED TALKs, and still remains in their top 10, please pass it along.
