Dr. Manny, Fox News, Speaks Out About Alkaline Water, Maraline Responds.

Dr. Manny of Fox News says…”If it (ionizing) sounds too good to be true, it probably is!” Watch his video on ionizers.

Because his response to ionizers was very brief, I felt compelled to respond to Dr. Manny. And, not that I felt he was unfair, I emailed Dr. Manny simply because without specific and extensive research, alkalizing can be misunderstood.

Below is my email to him.

Dr. Manny,

Please don’t underestimate the power of pH balance – It is exactly as you said, our bodies are too acidic, however I personally (having been in the field 10 years) don’t believe diet alone can correct the imbalance. And as enhancements go, electric ionizers are great, but most people today cannot afford them, and they don’t address the purity of the water. I was happy to hear you speak with some authority on this subject, so many from the medical community don’t, and I’d like to add to your research.

Everyone needs higher levels of whole food nutrition, clean, pure water, and to shortstop eating processed and fast foods (to start).

Yes our body regulates our pH, but it can only do what it can with what it’s got to work with – if there is more acid rain coming in than it can resolve then there is trouble, and today there is trouble with 1 in 3 people (children and adults).

So for most people today, their body regulates at the expense of stealing calcium (12pH) or potassium (14pH), but that’s not the whole story, and it may be interesting to look past electric ionizers and into what caused the issue, because only then can we educate people to change. We only need to go as far as looking at our food to know the system is broken, we have degraded food today. We also have degraded water and cities are struggling to maintain government regulations let alone health levels.

Water:

  • Tap water – Cities are adding tons more chemicals than they ever had to before. Water is unpredictable including well water. Gov’t. and health levels are different.
  • Bottled water is not the answer for a number of reasons, but most important to the consumer is that it is basically unregulated, and unless marked “spring”, most is reverse osmosis which strips the water of the bad granted, but also strips vital minerals, leaving the water dead and acidic (probably a 6 pH which will have an adverse health affect longterm).
  • Ionizing does more than raise the pH of the water (and today there is an alternative to electric ionizers, an inexpensive water powered system which also filters to purify as well as alkalize and ionize tap or well water into something that more reasonably resembles pure water.  
    • Ionizing breaks down the molecular structure of the water, making it smaller so it can hydrate the 20 different cell sizes and hydrate or re-hydrate us more easily.
    • Whether due to degraded water or acidic bodies, I find tap water runs right through people. We have to find ways to make it wetter.
      • An inexpensive way to help hydrate cells and bodies, is to add nutrition to the water, i.e., the phytochemical nutrition found in lemons and limes works great (pre-digestively acidic while post digestively alkaline)–
        • Wanting to extract nutrition will give the body more time to breakdown the molecular structure for hydration or re-hydration.

 

The truth is our body is intended to receive nutrition and hydration from food and water – whole foods and pure water.

While electric countertop ionizers are becoming popular, for a long time they were high end alternative response to degraded water and a remedy for an acidic body (for many reasons, not just the pH factor).

  • Pure water is optimal and the first priority. Pure water is clean, has minerals and carries a neutral pH. There is no pure water sources left in the world today, so the best we can do is filter it and enhance our tap water as naturally as possible, until we can get it as pure as we can, for drinking, bathing, cooking.

 

Best: Whole House system using state of the art medias like KDF 55, 85, etc., coconut carbon, and then further purify drinking water, enhancing with alkalizing filter

Good: Drinking/cooking water and shower/bath water.

Note:  If you still want an ionizer, then run pure water through it for best results.

Genetically modified foods……..Are they safe?

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) doesn’t think so. The Academy reported that “Several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with GM food,” including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system. The AAEM asked physicians to advise patients to avoid GM foods.

Before the FDA decided to allow GMOs into food without labeling, FDA scientists had repeatedly warned that GM foods can create unpredictable, hard-to-detect side effects, including allergies, toxins, new diseases, and nutritional problems. They urged long-term safety studies, but were ignored.

Processed foods, Excitotoxins, GMO, Chemicals, Pesticides, inhumane treatment, inferior food, antibiotics, hormones, grow bigger and faster mentality of livestock, poultry, and fish, and overall negligence about human health in general, is FLAT OUT WRONG!  

The impact of this message should be clear to us, there is so much wrong with our food system and it happened silently, decision making obviously slanted in the best financial interest of business, negligent of human health, negligent of being good stewards of our animals, land, and water. Mostly, we didn’t know it was happening and we cannot ignore the ramifications any longer, because to do so, effectively destroys any chance of good health for our children.

Let’s not start  impact by bringing back “organic”, that which was commonplace before WWII. We owe it to ourselves, our children, our parents, and the animals, to hold these companies accountable.

Reality check:  20 years ago how many children did you know who suffered from allergies, asthma, sleep issues, weight issues, diabetes, and worse? Today, the healthy, slim, and vibrant person is the exception instead of the rule.

Please, let’s “listen” to the children. It begins with facing some raw truths, education, and looking beyond the pretty packaging.

Raw (and easy) Apricot Butter Recipe

Apricot Butter
1 1/2 cups dried apricots, soaked overnight
1/2 cup macadamia nuts, soaked overnight
½ cup pine nuts soaked overnight
½ cup dried persimmons soaked overnight
¼ cup raw cocoa

In a food processor using the “S” blade, process the apricots, persimmons and macadamias, add in cocoa and pine nuts and continue to process to a smooth butter, or if you prefer, process just enough for a nutty chewy texture.

Do we really want Genetically Engineered Salmon? Frankenfish or Aqua Advantage Fish? What is GMO?

In this photo, the large fish is genetically engineered, as opposed to the small fish which is a “real” Atlantic Salmon.AquaBounty, a Massachusetts based company, is awaiting FDA approval for their genetically engineered salmon to hit the fish markets around the country. If approved, the fish could be on the market as early as 2012, says the AP.

Genetic Modification is such a bottom line moneymaker that big business is pouring tons of money into genetically altering our food sources. Take soybeans, all of a sudden they are bad for us, why? Soy beans absorb more chemicals and pesticides than any other vegetable, and we have genetically modified our soy, so literally unless it says “organic”, I’m not sure what you are eating. I am sure however, that every processed food on the shelf at the grocery store stands an above average chance at having soy (and not “organic”) as an ingredient, which explains a lot!

So, our Strawberries, Corn, Wheat, Potatoes, Soybeans, and really so many more produce items are silently genetically modified and sold to us, and  now Salmon? And guess what, no labelling required (as of yet), which is why most health conscious people are getting their ire up! GMO is becoming a huge business of bigger, faster, and costs less to produce! But, what about our health? Food is for our health, bottom line, and no other reason!

We have all heard the “CURRENT” news and talk of the FDA approving gentically altered salmon, or loosely referred to as  Frankenfish Salmon. So  let’s discuss this whole process of genetically modifying our fish, specifically salmon because it’s vulverable right now, and moreover,  it’s time we all know the details!

As a sidebar: If you are not aware of the difference between real fish that is called farmed salmon and real fish that is called wild salmon, I’ve added that information at the end of this post because there are inherent issues with farmed salmon that can be unhealthy as well. ALWAYS SHOP cold water wild salmon for good health. Let’s hope we don’t have to identify our fish as real or not – wow!

Not Your Mom’s Ranch Dressing

While I don’t know who originally tossed this dressing together, I can say it’s delicious! This dressing is one of my daughter Melissa, and her friend Chelsea’s favorites (I’ve also added their notes) This ranch dressing is pHabulous on sammies, especially salad wrap sammies, of course salads, and I’ve added my notes for making it a rich vege dip.

Traditional Dairy Version: Use same recipe, substituting dairy products for non-dairy or vegan, i.e., Veganaise, use mayonaise, etc.

 

Not Your Mom’s Ranch Dressing (makes 1 cup)

Blend the following together with a wire whip, mixer, or blender.

1/2 cup Veganaise (or another vegan mayo)

3/4 tsp fresh lemon juice

1/4 c. milk (almond, coconut, soy)

1/4 tsp of each: ground black pepper, unbleached sea salt, garlic powder

A couple of shakes of vegan parmesan

Notes: Melissa and Chelsea use a lot more seasoning than the recipe calls for, and prefer almond milk for best flavor.

Dip Note: Maraline suggests for extra richness, blend finished recipe with 2T. of Tofutti or vegan cream cheese!

Vaccines are linked to Autism by U.S. Vaccine Court

FIRST EVER AUTISM LINK TO VACCINE THROUGH THE COURT!

Does “The Buck Stop Here”? Are we over vaccinating our children? And more importantly, WHO pays the price?

Parents are awarded 1.5 million dollars as U.S. Vaccine Court finds that a number of vaccines given the same day resulted in an immediate reaction and an autistic diagnosis of their daughter!  To date this is the first Autism acknowledgement for parents in the U.S. Vaccine Court.  4800 legal cases actively pending to be heard.

This is a huge legal breakthrough for many reasons. First and foremost this should radically change how mainstream America views vaccines. And for those of us already researching, evaluating, and questioning not only the ingredients, but the number of vaccines, the purpose versus the harm, and long term, and sometimes permanent side affects, this case is landmark for public awareness.

You do have to wonder why this case is sealed, seems out of the ordinary, although this is the first WIN for the Plaintiffs, ever.  Now more than ever, it is up to parents to question, to seek information, ask what’s inside the vaccines, and also why infants and children today receive many more vaccines  than ever before. Learn about each and every vaccine BEFORE providing  permission.

Many integrated physicians (those medical doctors integrating holistic whole body care with traditional medical science) as well as  aware parents, are sifting and sorting,  rejecting some vaccines altogether, and/or refusing some and perhaps allowing others. Many are rejecting  the practice of multiple vaccines on the same day and are assuming the decision making of what, when, and how their children are vaccinated.

PUBLIC PERCEPTION is sometimes baffling, especially when I read on blogs of news stories about parents rejecting vaccines.  People write in they are fearful of having their children attend school with children who are not vaccinated, calling them an extreme health danger. But if vaccines protect us (do what they purport to do), which is the reason vaccines are administered, then doesn’t it makes sense the “vaccinated” children are protected and the “unvaccinated”children are at risk?
