Benefits and Uses of Rooibos Tea
Rooibos tea is the ideal drink for people with a busy lifestyle. It can be enjoyed in unlimited quantities throughout the

day. It is a great thirst quencher for athletes as iced tea, or mixed with fruit juice. For the diet conscious, who are experiencing the stress of a restricted diet, Rooibos is a soothing drink, without adding calories. Because of its lower tannin content, Rooibos is less bitter than regular tea and can be enjoyed without sugar.

Rooibos is not just for making drinks. It can also be used in baking and cooking. Rooibos can be used in any recipe. Just replace the liquid content in the recipe with ready made Rooibos tea. It may be used as base for soups, stews, marinades, and sauces. Rooibos is also a natural meat tenderizer.

Rooibos Tea for Mothers and Babies
Many desperate mothers have found that Rooibos tea relieves colic and stomach cramps in babies, when given in addition to their normal feeding. Some mothers have great faith in Rooibos tea to alleviate diaper rash. It has a soothing effect when applied to the affected area with every diaper change. Others believe it is useful in the treatment of certain skin irritations or eczema. Mothers will also tell you that this health drink relieves symptoms of allergies, hay fever, and asthma in babies and toddlers.

Japanese Research into Rooibos
Perhaps the highest testimony of the benefits of this pure and natural beverage comes from Japan, a society famous for its age-old devotion to the art of tea making. Here, Rooibos has been promoted as a healthy alternative to other cold and warm beverages.

Japanese scientist Matatoshi Nakano, has discovered that the effect of free radicals – a byproduct of normal cell function – in the process of aging and decline of the immune system is limited by the antioxidants in Rooibos. If the product is brewed/boiled for longer than 10 minutes, the antioxidant activity becomes much higher.

The Anti Aging Tea?
It has been found that Rooibos tea contains a substantial amount of a very special enzyme, Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) which is a prime preventer of Free Radical Damage. SOD also has the capability of preventing fats from changing into harmful lipid peroxide. As Rooibos tea also contains natural antioxidants, which help to remove or neutralize these toxins, there is growing acceptance that Rooibos could assist in
countering the aging process and boost the immune system. Rooibos Tea is also rich in Quercetin, the flavonol that has beneficial effects on numerous ailments. It is well known for increasing capillary strength, which aids in circulation, prevents hemorrhaging, and protects against infections.

In the late 1920’s, Dr. Nortier, a well-known medical doctor and nature lover, discovered the Rooibos and began to promote its value. Since then, Rooibos Tea has gone from strength to strength and is currently being exported to several countries such as Germany, Switzerland, England, and even Japan, a country renowned for it’s almost sacred regard for the art of tea making.

Rooibos is a Tea of Purity
Rooibos contains no additives, preservatives or colorants. It is completely pure and natural and contains no caffeine.

Rooibos Tea contains little tannin, a substance that affects the metabolism by decreasing absorption of certain nutrients like iron and protein. Growing children and especially women require added iron, so the decreased tannin can play an important role in improving the iron level of the diet.

Note: We make Rooibos Red Tea Concentrate from loose tea, and process through the Filtron Coffee Maker, liquid concentrate lasts up to a couple of months and takes hardly any storage room.

We are a nation of people who love our coffee, so much so that many of us drink a lot of coffee. Unfortunately we feel the acidic side affects because it’s about the most acidic beverage we can drink.

Cold Brew your coffee of choice and reduce the acidity 70% or more, enjoy a better tasting and much less acidic version through Cold Brew (also known as cold pressing).

The heat process, or heat brew causes much of the acidity, and while cold brew takes about 12 hours, you end up with an incredible coffee concentrate, that when added to boiling water or cold water, tastes just like fresh brewed. The beauty is you can drink it to your own strength!

To neutralize acidity it requires a 20:1 ratio of alkaline to acid, which means for heat brewed coffee (3pH or lower), that for every ounce of coffee you would need to (more…)

Stevia Powder Concentrate,Why No Aftertaste, Plus Measure Conversions

Stevia Concentrated Powder, No Aftertaste, 2oz - 16oz sizes, Stevia Recipes

Stevia powder concentrate is available by the ounce or the pound with the highest levels of  rebaudiosides a*, or steviosides*, and without any fillers or additives, other than 10% calcium powder which is tasteless. So if it’s available, why is it challenging to find stevia concentrated powder (even at the best health stores) without an aftertaste?

The size of a sesame seed equals taste of 1 tsp sugar. Stevia Conversion Chart

Measure: 2 oz pouch ($20.95 Free S/H) concentrated stevia powder =  3000 svgs

Stevia Beverage Recipes: Lemonade, GingerAle, Black Cherry Soda, Rooibos Ice Tea, Berry Berry Kids Drink, Juicy Juices, and more!

While it’s true that some companies want to stretch the stevia dollar and use a filler or cut that does have an aftertaste, even in concentrate form, it’s also true that stevia concentrate lasts a very long time so it’s not a weekly, or even a monthly purchase. For most of us, we purchase stevia concentrate powder perhaps twice, or maybe three times a year.  (more…)

Cleansing or Detoxing: Passively, Assertively, Aggressively

We are alkaline by design and acidic by function, meaning digestion, breathing, thinking, negative feelings, physical stress, as well as our other bodily functions may create acid. When our acidity becomes predominant, our body  while working to protect us, may attempt to cleanse with or without our help. It’s much better  to be proactive about cleansing.  Ingesting what our body requires both for hydration and nutrition  can be considered  passively cleansing each day because our body can easily expel toxins given the correct balance of nutrition and hydration. We can also enhance passive cleansing.

When we are feeling a bit out of balance we can become more focused about what we are eating and drinking, i.e., cleanse assertively, and on occasion or for health reasons we may want to become very focused about cleansing and detoxing, which would be a more aggressive cleansing. In this last instance we are moving well beyond wanting better performance and toward the goal of moving our health to the next level

Below we will review  methods, processes, and applications for all three cleansing/detoxing styles, Passive, Assertive, and Aggressive Cleansing/Detoxing. Cleansing can be customized to your schedule, your needs, and your goals, it’s easy once you see the big picture, and grab the concept!

God’s Miracle Healing Food – LEMON (Lime)

FRESH Lemon, PURE Water

Fresh lemon for your health.

God’s Miracle Healing Food – LEMON (Lime)

It’s about Hydration and Nutrition! Lemon has phytochemicals (nutrition) that our body craves, even if don’t particularly like lemons and limes, as you begin drinking it (light ratio of juice to water), you will find your body begins to crave it.
While we are supposed to receive minerals from our food and our water, our water is so degraded there is very little (if any) nutrition, and that alone makes it difficult to be hydrating.
When we drink water our body should hold onto the water, break down the molecula structure as it absorbs the nutrition. If our body is too acidic or not performing properly, water will go straight through, meaning we urinate shortly after hydrating.

When we add lemon or lime to our water, our body holds onto the water…click here to continue extensive article with two leading experts, lemon as a remedy, (more…)

Kids Who Love Kool Aid Also Love “Very Berry”

Want a healthy way to satisfy small appetites who LOVE sweet colorful drinks? Or maybe big kids who’s tastebuds love the comfort of their childhood drink?

Good news then, because a few months ago a friend of mine had me “hold on” as she was pouring her kids a berry drink. Knowing she’s a health nut  I asked “Okay, spill….how do you make this berry drink Michelle?”

Here’s her recipe as close as I can remember, then of course my two cents on top:)

6 Herbal Berry Tea Bags (your choice) in 6 cups of pure water, bring to a quick boil then simmer on low for about 10-15 minutes (during the summer you can make this just like you make sun tea).

Once simmered, add concentrated stevia (1/4 heaping tsp will be perfect).

At this time you may choose to add a touch of food coloring (or in my case concentrated juice, see below).

Fill a 2 quart pitcher with ice, pour hot tea over it – and that’s it – 2 quarts of very berry, very sweet, very healthy kid friendly beverage!

NOTE: I sometimes stir in 2 oz of unsweetened blueberry, black cherry, or other concentrated juice to the tea before pouring over the ice – richer flavor and richer color!
