Ice Tea Recipe:

Sweet Ice Tea: Bring 1 1/2 qts pure water to a boil, add 3 Rooibos Tea Bags, 1/4 tsp conc. stevia (no aftertaste) , and simmer 15 minutes, pour over 1/2 gallon container filled with ice

Unsweetened Rooibos Ice Tea, same as above without stevia.

Saliva is produced by our salivary glands and when they are clogged or not working properly, our saliva can be too acidic, resulting in dry mouth and sometimes mouth sores.

You can now find many products made with xylitol over the counter at your local grocery, drug store, and of course big box stores, however most are corn based and made in China, so for the healthiest xylitol look for USA products who use domestic xylitol, made from birch trees. Hydration is Everything – Body Weight vs. Body Water

How much water should a person drink?  Take your body weight, divide by 2 and that tells you roughly how many quarts of water you are (each quart of water weighs about 2 pounds), example 100 pounds = 50 quarts. Then decide how much pure drinking water you should drink,  i.e., 8 glasses a day would be 2 quarts fresh water each day.  So if you are 150 pounds and drank 2 quarts of water a day, it would take 75 days to drink your body water, 3 quarts a day would take 50 days, ultimately having an impact on your level of hydration (cells), and water environment.

Note about Xylitol: In addition to gum, mints, etc., I like xylitol for some food preparation, especially (looks like sugar, tastes like sugar, and acts like sugar) for baking, sauces, and making berry jams. For a daily beverage sweetener I prefer concentrated stevia for making healthy drinks at home like lemonade, red tea, juice from concentrate, etc.

Dangers of GMO Sugar Beets

Sugar If a non-organic product made in North American lists “sugar” as an ingredient (and NOT pure cane sugar), then it is almost certainly a combination of sugar from both sugar cane and GM sugar beets.

Thimerosal (mercury) in Flu Shots & Vaccines is out of hand.

Any reasonable person would question why it is, that in 2010, our children are required to receive (count them) 24 mandatory vaccinations, when just one generation ago, 10 vaccinations was the requirement. I  personally compared my older children with my 14 year old’s records, then put those records against the number of injections today’s babies are recommended, and there is absolutely no way the increase can be justified. Join my FB, and see how a Vet, doctor for animals, minimizes vaccines for the family pets because he sees them as harmful, yet for our children the number of injections has compounded.

Another point of contention is that not only do today’s children receive many more vaccinations, Thimerosal (mercury) is still present at staggering amounts (the amount the FDA determines safe for a 275 lb man). So even after all the controversy and court cases, children especially, are given injections (vaccines and flu shots) which are frequently doubled up or even tripled.  Why?

Why McDonalds Burgers Have Not Decomposed since 1989 – believe it!

As another data point to our ongoing McDonald’s Burger series (and don’t think for a minute this is ONLY about McDonald’s or just Big Mac’s and Happy Meals), you’ll be surprised to learn at least one guy has been collecting McDonald’s burgers since the 1980’s, AND STILL HAS THEM!

Here is a great vid plus an excerpt from Natural News, they posted the original news story years ago on the McDonald’s Burgers bought in the 1980’s – watch the vid.

From Natural News….No normal animal will perceive a McDonald’s hamburger bun as food, and as it turns out, neither will bacteria or fungi. To their senses, it’s just not edible stuff. That’s why these bionic burger buns just won’t decompose.

Organic Egg Update – Which organic eggs are trustworthy?

Scrambled Egg Report Update

Remember our egg recall a few months ago? An important detail about the recall, is that the eggs in question all came from mass production farms or what is called big agri-egg business.

Unfortunately in the “organic” world we also have large agri-egg farms, and according to a report submitted by a pHreshLiving.com reader, some of them may be under scrutiny for reasons other than salmonella. It seems they may not be abiding by the “organic” rules, posted on an earlier report, and that the chickens may not be “free range”, meaning able to walk around and have a normal 16 week life in the outdoors. So, now we must discern between the organic eggs as well, at least until they come up with another heading, perhaps “organic eggs from organic fed (not free range) chickens”, or something like that.

Ingredients in sodas and diet sodas, boxed and canned foods, deli foods…

Symptoms and disease follow nutritional deficiencies, overacidification, chemicals and preservatives in our food, and dehydration of our body, regardless of age and genetics. The degradation of our food and our water sources, and water processing with chemicals, all speak to our inability to control the monster we’ve created as well as the negligence.

Having said that, this video by Planet Prison, is a segment which is bold and unbridled not in graphics, but in facts. These guys do not mess around with what is politically correct, that’s for sure.

The most difficult task we have is to undo what has happened to our food and water.  No doubt. The second most difficult task will be for not just the “health buffs”, but everyone to spend their food money on healthy foods, making and drinking healthy beverages, and re-hydrate and re-nourish our bodies – even if it takes a little longer and doesn’t have the quick gratification of chowing down a burger and fries (which if you look at past posts you’ll see photos of a recently purchased burger and a 14 year old burger, and they look the same)!

We are what we eat – so true! And the fast food restaurants are being supported by US, as is the processed food industry, the genetically modified and conventionally grown ( a nice way of saying sprayed with chemicals and pesticides) rather than organic, plus…sadly, chemical foods are now commonplace. Why? Because they are all hidden with artificial flavor, because IT’S EASY, IT’S FAST, and IT’S FUN FOOD!

Buying non-gmo and organic food on a budget.

So here we are knowing a lot of our produce is genetically modified, that our conventional produce is filled with chemicals and pesticides. That our meat and poultry is for the most part today, very inhumanely raised and given hormones, antibiotics, and degraded food…… BUT we have limited funds for food.

Organic is so expensive, how do we make the best choices on our budget?  

Choices should start with the understanding you may have to eat less to get more, however once you get that part, no matter what you buy, you’ll be looking for quality and not quantity. You’ll also become more aware of which companies are delivering food for your HEALTH, and which are delivering food for PROFIT, regardless of how they do it, and how you may suffer from the degraded foods.  

Let’s keep in mind our body “REQUIRES” a minimum level of nutrition to FUNCTION, without it there are deficits, as the deficits grow, physical symptoms and dis-ease do as well. If you want to become empowered about your health you’re going to need to discern your food and water choices.

Chemical Cuisine: A bowl of Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, and a little petroleum chemical?

We are what we eat, look for hidden chemicals in cloaked healthy sounding ingredients!

 

No doubt this was a mishap at the Kellogg Cereal Plant. Apparently they found a little too much of (what the heck is?) 2-methylnaphthalene chemical in the packaging that holds certain Kellogg cereals. 

We want to trust mainstream food manufacturers, but this is one of those “aha” moments, requiring you get smart on various chemicals cloaked under “healthy sounding names”, before  marketing day! 

ARTIFICIAL COLORS (didn’t give that much thought on an average busy day), however, ARTIFICAL COLORS are derived from..you guessed it, another petrochemical. 

And other petroleum chemicals called "artificial colors"?

Kellogg finds "too much" chemical in their food liners!

 

As you read Kellogg’s statement about about the chemicals in the packaging mishap, also be aware that most processed foods, and not necessarily these particular cereals, have chemicals in otherwise very prounounceable ingredients, ones which may even appear to be healthy. 

For example, along with a very common chemical sweetner HFSC (High Fructose Corn Syrup) that you will find everywhere, there are also dangerous perservatives, sweetners, and flavor enhancing chemicals called EXCITOTOXINS (two of most popular are MSG and ASPARTAME) most often cloaked in other healthy sounding names, and listed as ingredients in most processed foods, even baby food, supplmements, health foods, etc.
